Toyota RAV4

If you are looking for a cheap and reliable car to rent on your self-drive safari in Uganda, we recommend booking a Toyota RAV4 for budget travelers. The car is sporty, compact, and robust, while the fuel consumption is very low compared to a Landcruiser hence being economical to drive, covering approximately 10-12km/liter. It’s automatic and in permanent four-wheel-drive.

Please note that we don’t recommend taking a RAV4 on a self-drive to Kidepo National Park and Karamajo areas because all roads north of Pakwach – Lira – Soroti – Mbale are raggedy; therefore, we advise travelers to consider Hilux Double Cab or Landcruiser.

Prado TX With Popup Roof

This is one of the popular 4×4 for self-drive in Uganda. Our Prado TX features a pop-up roof to facilitate travelers to view wildlife at 360°. This car is perfect for 4 people with camping gear and its automatic fuel consumption is about 8 km/liter.
